R.I.P., Periwinkle the Budgie

Spring, 1998, to July 22, 2005

These are photos of a terrific little cobalt budgie named Periwinkle ("Peri"), taken in 1998, when he was still very young. Peri was a great bird: friendly, confident, cheerful, and frequently hilarious. Charlotte spent a lot of time with him, and because of her attentions, he learned to talk. Until the last year or so of his life, he would frequently greet us with various words and phrases he'd picked up from us.

Periwinkle died suddenly on July 22, 2005. He was seven years old, at the upper end of the typical budgie life span.

We miss him.
